BACK
TO BASIC BUSINESS
Rural India has been living on Agriculture - braving
draughts, famines, floods and other ravages of Nature. Rural India has so far
survived, only because of the ingenuity of local Agricultural Workers. They are
the Unapproachable (today’s SC Dalits) Tribals (today’s ST Dalits) and other
unknown numbers of numerous Other Backward Classes (today’s OBCs) including the
Converts of these three clear solid identifiable UTB Class of People to
Christianity and Islam. This survival was in spite of the few wrong elements,
the BKVs – brahmins (priestly classes) kshatriyas (warrior classes) and
vaishyas (business classes) dominating the Indian Society everywhere in the
Country. These BKVs have been always setting bad examples, and through out the
history have been exploitative. They change their colours quickly, and swiftly
adopt the culture, values and life styles of the rulers – be they the
traditional ones, or the new crop of local adventurous upstarts or goons, or
foreign mercenaries and raiders, or foreign conquerors who have come in search
of new pastures to win and rule, or for trade and to buy silk, spices etc.
Thus, many BKVs have gone to the side of various raiding and invading local,
near by and foreign armies and rulers, or joined the dominant traders.
The BKVs always adopted the culture of the new rulers and
their partners only to hob-knob with them for their own personal and private
benefits and advantages. They were always ready and wanting to be identified
and co-opted by the new rulers. They were indifferent to the Social and
National Interests, or to the future of the Country and the People. Their only
aim was their own survival, comforts, benefits and advantages in life, however
small or insignificant they may be. Hence they were ever willing to serve as
the tools, agents, informers, helpers, guides and partners in the loot; and in
the exploitation, trade, manipulations, cheatings, frauds, dominance, rule and
governance. They became the visible tools or representatives of the dominant
groups, administration and Govt in the rural and local areas. They always
helped the powerful and the rulers, to exploit control suppress and oppress the
People, who mostly belong to the UTB Classes.
The UTBs are generally experts in farming, and are skilled
artisans. Their labour, hard-work, ingenious adaptations, innovative
capacities, virgin minds and productive skills alone sustained the Rural Areas,
and kept the People there alive, though now in an emancipated condition. Their
work, creations and other contributions to the Economy and the Society also
helped to maintain and keep the BKVs and the Local Agents, Regional Chieftains
and the Rulers, be they the old traditional ones, or new enterprising upstarts,
or the camping marauding raiders, or the near-by or far-off conquerors or the
foreign colonial rulers.
With the permanent settlements made by the British, the
so-called intelligent, learned, co-opting BKVs, became the petty agents or
sub-agents to agents, clerks, teachers, or small and big zamindars. On the
alternative, they resorted to money lending, and became moneychangers, or traveling
salesmen and settled retailers or comprador agents. Readily and willingly they
became the representatives of, the British Industries producing surplus goods,
as a result of many Innovations and the consequent Industrial Revolution in
England and Europe, for marketing all over the World and in the British
Colonies and Protectorates. While the unproductive BKVs were enjoying the
gifts, and sharing the spare able bread, butter, cheese, jam, sauce, rum, beer,
brandy and wine, because of their comprador role, association and other forms
of partnership in the loot with the Colonial Rulers and Administration, the
British who were basically interested in Economic Activities of Production and
Productivity, realizing the values capabilities and merits of the uninitiated
UTBs, particularly their skills stamina ingenuity intelligence honesty openness
and loyalty, recruited them for useful and productive service, even though they
were otherwise uneducated or even illiterate, as ayahs, cooks, butlers,
attendants, helpers, domestic workers, watchmen, sentries, and later as
soldiers into their armies. They also took them as Cooks and Waiters in their
Canteens Clubs Messes and Hotels in their Cantonments Towns Cities and distant
Hill-Stations. Thus, the UTBs made poor and rendered voiceless and powerless,
by the BKVs exploiting Agriculture and Agricultural Workers in the Rural Areas
for their own personal survival comforts and well-being, and for and on behalf
of the Empire, survived – with the help of the money sent by their boys working
in the Cities and Towns in the British Canteens, Clubs, Hotels, Messes,
Offices, Factories, Workshops, Mills, Tea Gardens and Households. Thus, the
Rural Areas began to survive in a new order and style, the Money-Order Economy.
This style and system survived till the British were here.
The new Govts of BKVs, by the BKVs, only for the BKVs,
just could not manage the Country and the Nation’s Economy. Development Growth
and Production is one thing, and the People and the Rural Areas surviving is
another. The BKVs, not being intelligent or creative, and not being concerned
about others, particularly the UTBs, did not bother and could not manage the
Country and the Society there in. They could never generate adequate wealth,
either to create assets or govern or run the Country. They were also not
willing to leave the natural resources in the hands of, or for the People, for
them to survive on their own. Thus, the Rural Areas began to collapse, leaving
the Rural People with no alternative than to migrate to the Cities and Towns,
as unskilled manual laborers etc. Meanwhile, the BKVs – almost every one of
them, began to cheat the Govt, build their own houses, Private Bungalows which
were poor copies of the British Govt Bungalows built for use by the officers
and sahibs. Many of them also built their own unimaginative Taj Mahals, just
for themselves and their families to live-in. Thus the Nation’s Wealth, Public
Money, Govt Resources and the Funds of the Exchequer, got diverted into private
pockets. It is sad and a great tragedy that most of them are lying idle and
unproductive, in the form of dead unviable poor quality houses, that too in
private hands. Still they charge and earn huge rents from poor UTBs. These
invariably get hoarded as part of unaccounted black money. Consequently, no
money is left in the Public Exchequer for use by the Govt, for any Public Work,
Social Good, Education and Health Care of the People, particularly for the
benefit of the Children – the Future Citizens and Rulers of the Country. And no
money is also available with the Govt for any other useful and productive
development, meaningful Welfare Schemes or even for Governance.
With no or little money in the hands of the Govt, the
Public/Govt Economy began to collapse. And there is now no money in the Public
Sphere, even though billions and billions of Rupees are idle in the Country in
private hands. Similar huge amounts are locked up and hidden from public-view
as Dollars Pounds Francs etc, in secret or other hidden accounts abroad of
private individual BKVs living in this Country. They are all the ill gotten
unaccounted black money. The black money and private economy of the BKVs, with
unaccounted and unexplainable money and wealth is booming in this Country.
There is no one in the BKV Govts to question or check these. These private
money and hidden wealth are not productive, nor do the money circulate in the
Society and amongst the People for the benefit and good of the Country. They
only role and pass hands, secretively amongst the BKVs. Hence, both the
Productive Capabilities and Purchasing Capacities of the People had drastically
gone down.
The BKVs, basically being useless unproductive
exploitative bad elements, and co-optable fifth columnists, allowed themselves
to be readily corrupted by their association with all-foreign and colonizing
traders and rulers. They were much influenced by the colonizer’s rum, beer,
wine, whisky and women. Examples for the whole BKVs were their agents and
representatives in administration and other civil and military services, both
in private and public Govt Services, who were more impressed by the bad
influences of the West – education, employment, canteens, clubs, messes, hotels
and women and whisky. Short sighted and ignorant of the rural areas and the
real problems of the people, they thought it wise, prudent and a right option
to introduce Liquor – the Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) amongst the People
to raise money to run the Govt. They badly wanted the excise duties, to
facilitate the Govts pay salaries to them, and by the way take up some namesake
Welfare Measures (WM) Public Health Schemes (PHS) and Poverty Amelioration
Programmes (PAP) to repair a little, the damages caused to the people and the
society by taking liberally liquor into the society, particularly the ignorant
illiterate helpless and option-less poor people. But already the BKVs had taken
to the business of brewing and selling illicit Country Made Liquor, or
illegally market IMFL openly through unauthorized outlets in the black market.
The BKVs used to a life of parasites and comforts, being
historic exploiters and fifth columnist comprador agents, have no tradition of
working, stamina or capacities and capabilities to withstand any stress and
strain. Yet, they assumed themselves to be the most educated intelligent
meritorious elements, suitable for appointment to all decent well paid Govt and
Public Services. Thus, they began to increasingly monopolize all Govt and
Public Services, Employment and other good beneficial opportunities. Also, to
this end, the BKVs began to deliberately neglect Education in the Rural Areas,
and for the Common Poor People in the Urban Areas also, so as to keep up their
policy of denying developmental progressive liberal education and good employment
to the masses of UTBs. But at the same time, they began to systematically
increase the qualifications and level of education and Degrees required for
both Govt Jobs and Public Employment. Along with that, they also started to
copy from the West, and introduce ever increasing diverse special higher
education, degrees, specializations and super-specializations. Strangely
enough, They have even made them as the basic education and minimum
requirements for many employments in Govt and Public Services. And treacherously
now, the BKVs want the UTBs away from all higher education, particularly those
leading to Degrees in Specializations and Super-Specializations.
The Colonial British gave Liberal Education, generally
free and open to all the People, and accessible by different Sections of the
Society, without any exception. But, these days, the Courts and the Govts all
say that, it is necessary to keep Certain Levels of Education and Certain
Spheres of Education away from the UTBs. Even today, British Universities, and
for that matter foreign Universities in different parts of the World, do not
deny admissions to any Class, Colour, Race, Sex and Caste of People, as do the
Courts and the Govts today do in India. That is suffix to say, about us and the
Democracy in the Country.
During the British Days, three types of Certificates
awarded to the students completing their School Education –
Passed and Fit for Higher Education, Govt Jobs and Public
Services,
Failed but suitable for Govt Jobs and Public Services, and
failed.
Thus, those days, even certain types of failures, though
not eligible to pursue higher studies till they Pass their exams again, were
considered to be good enough to take up Govt Jobs and join Public Services,
which then were considered to be much superior to private jobs. Today, the BKVs
themselves understand clearly that, the Country’s Education System in the hands
of their fellow BKVs is so bad that most of the Degrees, Diplomas and
Certificates by the Universities and Govt or public and private Institutions
are so worthless to be fit only for dumping in the dust-bins and waste-paper
baskets. They and their own officials, know the real worth and quality of the
Education being dished out by their fellow BKV caste academicians and educationists.
Thus, majority of the poor rural UTBs, denied education and jobs, have slid
down below the Poverty Line, and have finally ended up in the City Slums and
gone into the unorganized marginal Labour Market of Industrial Areas, Brick
Kilns, Construction and Building Segments, Mining Areas etc, or have been sadly
sucked into the vortex of the Under World and Red Light Areas. Whatever little
may they earn, is also mostly lost by them in Govt promoted IMFL Outlets, or
BKVs’ Black Markets for IMFL or Country Made Liquor or in getting other
dangerous and oftentimes poisonous products of the illicit liquor trade. Hence,
they are left with no money to spare or save, to send to their homes and
families back in the villages. And with increasing stupid or meaningless higher
educational requirements, even for employment as routine manual labourers,
waiters, cooks, attendants and orderlies, security guards and soldiers etc,
employment chances have also shrunk. Thus, the old Money-Order Economy of the
British Days has now practically come to an end.
The collapse of traditional Agriculture, entry of retired
bureaucrats and business houses into the farm-sector with mechanized
equipments, and the shift towards cash-crops, orchards etc have left many of
the Rural Poor without any jobs, or proper work, or full employment, adequate
earnings and proper livelihood. Thus, today the Rural Areas, the Villages and
the Poor are in shambles, and the Agricultural Economy is collapsing. Now,
while the BKVs are bragging about Green and White Revolutions, Communication
and TV Technologies, and the Computer and Inter-Net breakthroughs, the Market
and Economy do collapse at the failure, or slightest shortfall, or even some
delay in the monsoons and quantum of rain they deliver in any part of the
Country. While the BKVs boast of their whiz kids, nothing has been done to
ensure their own food-security. As rightly observed by Mr Bill Clinton, while
more than a million Inter-Net Connections are there in India, many millions of
poor here do not yet have water connections; and while India claims itself as
having the third largest Scientific and Technical Man-Power in the World,
nearly half of India is illiterate and live below the Poverty Line. That is,
half of India has been left in such a hopeless position of not being able to
afford, even one meal a day, for survival and live a life with some dignity.
Yes, the President of America was right there for once. Truly, one can’t be
partying forever or the whole day, or be playing games, whatever they may be.
At the end, one has to pay the bills, say good-bye to others and go home, and
eat too. One has to therefore produce food, and pay other domestic bills and
expenses.
India prides itself as being the Largest Democracy in the
World. But in content, it continues to be the most Oppressive Country and an
Unfair Nation, which exploits its own people cruelly and shamelessly, that too
often criminally. For, this is only a Ritualistic Democracy, a Democracy where
Elections will be held only when it becomes Constitutionally Inescapable and
Inevitable. That too, only to elect the BKVs and to install their own Govts.
Otherwise, the Govts would be openly subverted from with-in, shamelessly
sabotaged from outside, and unreasonably pulled down at the earliest opportunity.
Similarly, the oft-repeated claim of having the so-called third largest
Scientific and Technical Man-Power of the World in, is only a big bogey. Most
of them, with Admissions secured and Degrees purchased by paying Millions of
Rupees, from namesake Colleges and Technical Institutions, are even unfit for
Screw Driver Technology Industries. Hence, it is no wonder that, the Nation and
Economy are still dependant on the Monsoons and vagaries of nature, and the
Health-Care System in the Country built so laboriously by the British, is
sliding back to the dark days of witch-craft and empirical systems of hearsay
ritualism and superstitions.
Govt Policies Practices Decisions Schemes Programmes
Budgets and Sanctions only help Funds Resources and Wealth to be transferred
from the Rural to Urban Areas, and from the Urban Poor Masses to the rich elite
groups, then from the Urban Areas to the State HQrs and ultimately to the
National Capital; and also from the Govt to private individuals and business
houses. That is how many have become rich and grown powerful overnight, without
working earning or doing anything. These always happen silently slowly but
steadily. The common-man hardly realises these, and even when doubts or speaks
out nobody bothers or hears or takes notice, and nothing ever happens to
correct or remedy the situation and set things right. The People understand the
damages done, only when the acts are complete. The beneficiaries are always the
BKVs, and the loosers and sufferers obviously are the UTBs. Even otherwise, in
this Country, the Market Forces are organised on Caste Lines. The Govt is on
the Caste Lines. The Administrative Hierarchy is based on the Castes. Hence
decisions invariably are taken on the basis of the Castes. The Castes being
silently and internally antagonistic, often openly inimical, nothing can happen
for the Good of the People and the Nation. The Market Forces are therefore a
big danger for the Common Man and the Country. To believe in it is suicidal. It
is like straying unconsciously or by mistake, unarmed into the Lion’s Den. But
the Govts and the BKVs there, are eagerly opting for the Market, to make the
best use the existing environment around, as usual for their own benefit. They
are clear in their mind, though they may not speak out openly. The Govts of the
BKVs and the BKVs are for – Concentrating Wealth and Power, Emergence of
Monopoly and Restricted Trade Practices, Dominating and Holding the Society to
Ransom, Speculative Business, and for misuse, misutilisation, wrong usage,
wastage, and for keeping the funds and resources idle and or locked up without
any benefit to anyone, other than themselves. What if in the Free World, the
Govts and Courts there find even Inter-Nationally famous big-business and
modern enterprises guilty of misusing Trust, and are against Concentration of
Wealth, Centralisation of Power, Emergence of Monopolies, and Practices of
Restrictive Trade? In this Country, each Caste is a closed self-consuming Unit,
always wanting to benefit itself at the cost of others even by cheating and
exploiting all others not belonging to their own Caste. Hence, one can never
expect Justice, Fairness, Honesty, Equal Treatment, Rule of Law, Equal
Application of the Law and Equality before the Law, especially from any of those
small Dominant Castes and those who have suddenly come to the lime-light or
center-stage for the first-time.
The all-round collapse of the Country, Govt,
Administration, Economy, and the falling standards of life and health of the
people, are all telling on the Govt and the Country as a whole. True to their
Genes, the BKVs still do not want to see the writings on the wall, see reason,
accept the realities of life, or mend and change their ways. They keep
exploiting the people by double-talks, and try to shift the blame on others. At
the same time, they are very serious and busy in finding new avenues of
survival, as well as newer and newer, and stranger means and methods of
exploitations, to hoodwink the People, the Country and the World. All their
great guns, the products of modern rational liberal scientific British
Education System, Socialistic Planning, State Administered Economy and Public
Sector, have now got a new and strangely enough the same enlightenment. That is
- All the Evils, and anything and everything bad in the Society are due to Govt
Policies, weaknesses in the Constitution, wrong Economic Strategies, wasteful
creation of PSUs, unwanted Govt Controls and so on. The results of these
include themselves, who had lived through and grown with all these, and in fact
are here today only and directly because of these alone. What then would
Survive? And what would the BKVs indulge and promote in future? Why, sure, they
would take to their traditional businesses of – Liquor and Drugs Promotion,
Prostitution and Call-Girl Companionship, and Money Lending and sheer
Exploitation. All three of them, their oldest Professions, of which they and
their families are the past masters!
